Flow – move with the breath through standing, balancing, kneeling, seated, and reclined poses; can be slow for a deep stretch or paced with the breath. (Hatha, vinyasa styles, and gentle flows)

Yin, Restorative, and Gentle – long-held poses for muscular release and stretch through seated, kneeling, and reclined positions.

Adaptive – traditional poses using a chair or massage table for those with limited mobility or those who want a practice that can be done at work or school (Adaptive, chair, corporate styles)

Meditation – done in a comfortable position, uses meditation, mindfulness, visualization, mantra, breathing practices, etc. to promote relaxation, equanimity, and a sense of joy. (Meditation, yoga nidra, and more)

Reiki Options (virtual & in-person)

Usui – Done without touch. The practice of Usui Reiki typically involves a Reiki practitioner placing their hands lightly on or near the recipient’s body, allowing the universal life force energy to flow through them and into the recipient. This energy is believed to promote relaxation, reduce stress, alleviate pain, and support physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Restorative reiki – Combines the use of restorative yoga poses with the practice of usui reiki

Reiki meditation – Combines the use of meditation or yoga nidra with the practice of reiki

In-home Massage is available to Yoga clients and referrals ONLY

Relaxation massage – also called Swedish massage, this is one of the most popular and widely practiced massage techniques worldwide. It’s characterized by its gentle to moderate pressure and fluid, flowing strokes, making it ideal for relaxation and stress relief. This style of massage is known for its ability to promote relaxation, relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and enhance overall well-being. It’s often used as a general full-body massage but can also be customized to target specific areas of tension or discomfort.

Therapeutic massage – also called Deep Tissue massage- uses techniques that address chronic muscle tension, adhesions (knots), and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue (fascia) in the body. It involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to target specific areas of tension and discomfort. It is beneficial for individuals with chronic muscle pain, stiffness, and tension, as well as those recovering from injuries or dealing with postural issues. It can help break up scar tissue, improve blood circulation, promote faster healing, and increase flexibility and mobility. While the sensation may be intense, it should not be painful.

Abhyanga*– also called Warm Oil Massage- involves applying warm oil to the entire body, including the scalp and soles of the feet, and massaging it using long, flowing strokes. This practice nourishes and hydrates the skin, boosts circulation, stimulates the lymphatic system, and aids in detoxification. It also calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and balances the individual’s constitution. Additionally, abhyanga promotes self-love and self-care, fostering a sense of nurturing and relaxation.

Marma Therapy– also called Indian Acupressure- involves gentle pressure and massage over marma points—specific energy centers or vital points located throughout the body—similar to the concept of acupressure points in traditional Chinese medicine. This practice has been known to balance energy, relieve tension, enhance circulation, calm the mind, and boost immunity.

Prenatal massage – this massage is most often done side-lying with the use of pillows to prop and support the body; at Willow OBGYN we use a specialized cushion to allow the individual to lie face-down. It alleviates common pregnancy discomforts like back pain, sciatic nerve pain, and muscle tension through gentle pressure and specialized techniques, in addition to decreasing headaches, nausea, constipation, and insomnia. It can improve circulation by stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation and reducing swelling. It promotes relaxation by releasing endorphins and reducing stress hormones, easing anxiety, enhancing sleep, and improving mood.

Stretch massage – also called Thai Massage, this practice focuses on slow, gentle compressions paired with passive range-of-motion and stretching. It enhances flexibility, mobility, and range of motion in the joints and muscles. This modality effectively alleviates muscle tension, stiffness, and pain and induces a state of deep relaxation and calmness, reducing stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue. By stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation, it facilitates the flow of oxygen and nutrients while promoting the elimination of toxins.

Reiki massage – Combines relaxation massage techniques with reiki, a gentle energy healing technique that provides holistic benefits. It reduces stress and anxiety, alleviates physical discomfort, and boosts vitality by restoring energy balance. Emotionally, it fosters clarity and resilience. Mentally, it enhances focus and decision-making. Reiki supports the immune system and promotes spiritual growth and connection.
